Voiceover Secrets: How to Sound Trustworthy (Not Robotic)

The voiceover is the invisible actor in your video. It can make or break your message. A good voiceover builds trust. A bad one screams "cheap corporate video."

Here's what we've learned after hundreds of projects:

  • For B2B SaaS, use a confident, warm voice. Not overly enthusiastic, not monotone. Someone who sounds like they've been in the industry for years.
  • For Fintech or Crypto, use a slightly deeper, more authoritative tone. Trust is paramount. A calm, measured voice conveys competence.
  • For EdTech or consumer SaaS, use a friendly, approachable voice. Think of a teacher you actually liked.

We always do voice tests with a sample of our client's actual customers. We send 3–5 voice samples and ask: "Which one would you trust with your data?" The results are always surprising. The voice that sounds "professional" to the CEO often sounds "corporate" to customers.

Also: captions increase watch time by 12%. Not because people are hard of hearing, but because many watch without sound (especially on mobile). Always include captions.
